Age at Marriage Calculator FAQ
Answers about method, inputs, privacy, boundaries and responsible interpretation.
How is the age on my wedding day calculated?
In complete calendar units: whole years first, counted from your most recent birthday on or before the wedding date, then whole months from there, and finally the remaining days. Because it works on real calendar dates, leap years and short months are already accounted for in the result.
What age was I if I married on my birthday?
Exactly that birthday's age, with nothing left over. Someone born on 14 February 1998 who married on 14 February 2026 was exactly 28 years, 0 months and 0 days old on the day.
Can one day really change the answer?
Yes. Move that same wedding one day earlier, to 13 February 2026, and the age becomes 27 years, 11 months and 30 days — a single day changes the year figure, because the 28th birthday had not yet been reached.
I was born on 14 February 1998 and married on 20 October 2026. How old was I?
28 years, 8 months and 6 days: 28 complete years to your birthday on 14 February 2026, then 8 complete months to 14 October 2026, and 6 days remaining after that.
Does the calculator check whether I was legally old enough to marry?
No. The result is an arithmetic answer only — the calculator does not check legal minimum ages or any other eligibility rule. Those rules differ by place and change over time, so check the rules for the place of marriage separately if that matters to you.
