What you get

Age counted in three-month quarters

Enter a date of birth and the date to calculate on. The calculator first works out the calendar age, then converts the complete years and months into quarters — blocks of three months — and reports the total days and whole weeks alongside.

★Method

Complete months divided into blocks of three

Quarters are counted from whole calendar months: the complete years are multiplied by 12, the extra complete months added, and the total divided by 3 with any remainder dropped. Leftover days below a complete month do not count towards a quarter.

◎Example

Worked example

Born 15 May 2019 and calculated on 20 October 2026, the calendar age is 7 years, 5 months, 5 days — 89 complete months, which makes 29 quarters, across 2,715 total days.

⌁Limits

Limits

Because only complete months count, a baby born 1 August 2026 still shows 0 quarters on 20 October 2026, at 2 months and 19 days old; the first quarter completes at exactly 3 calendar months. Quarters here are three-month age blocks, not calendar or financial quarters.
